Good day for waves.

Good day for waves., originally uploaded by theothermattm.

Almost time to say goodbye to summer, but not before an amazing trip to the beach. These were waves at Pirate's Cove beach in Rye, NH resulting from the multiple hurricanes out in the Atlantic right now.

I wanted to get a nice picture of some dudes catching waves, but nobody seemed to be actually catching any. Had to settle for these guys body surfing. Oh well!

Did some minor tone tweaking on this one and added a slight gradient at the top. The exposure came out pretty good, especially considering how bright it was that day.

Excitingness: A Canon 10-20mm USM lens is going to be in my eager hands soon. I can't wait, it seems as though every time I'm out shooting I see opportunities for wider perspective shots and can't get them. Had an opportunity to try this lens out a couple weeks back and was really impressed with the natural tones it produced.

10mm - 20mm? Very nice.

I've been looking for a wide angle for a long time but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have a 18 - 105mm and a fixed 24mm (F 2.0) but would love to have an ultra wide angle like the one you're getting.
